چکیده
Abstract Virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) is a useful tool to investigate the role of genes particularly in hard-to-transform plant species via Agrobacterium -mediated genetic transformation process. Soybean one most important crops for food and protein source, but its low efficiency makes it hard identify functions interest. Here, we adopted tobacco ringspot virus (TRSV)-based VIGS systems examined LATE FLOWERING ( GmLATE ) soybean. Because TRSV induces symptoms affecting leaf senescence development, screened soybean genotypes selected genotype, named Aram, which shows resistance while susceptible TRSV-induced silencing. The TRSV-based showed suppressed flower development with decreased expression related flowering. These results suggest that plays promoting soybean, different from as floral repressor Arabidopsis . Our show novel function demonstrate system can be used study involved flowering

Tomato and Tobacco Phytoene Desaturase Gene Silencing by Virus-Induced Gene Silencing (VIGS) Technique
Background and Aims: Virus-Induced Gene Silencing (VIGS) is a virus vector technology that exploits antiviral defense mechanism. By infecting plants with recombinant viruses containing host genes inserted in the viral genome, VIGS achieves the RNA silencing process. The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) and tobacco (Nicotiana be...

Background:Potyvirus-based virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) is used for knocking down the expression of a target gene in numerous plant species. Sugarcane mosaic virus (SCMV) is a monopartite, positive single strand RNA virus. Objectives:pBINTRA6 vector was modified by inserting a gene segment of SCMV in place of Tobacco rattle virus (TRV) genome part 1 (TRV1 or RNA1)...

متن کاملVirus-Induced Gene Silencing, a Post Transcriptional Gene Silencing Method
Virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) is one of the reverse genetics tools for analysis of gene function that uses viral vectors carrying a target gene fragment to produce dsRNA which trigger RNA-mediated gene silencing. There are a number of viruses which have been modified to silence the gene of interest effectively with a sequence-specific manner. Therefore, different types of methodologies ha...
متن کاملPotential Application of Virus-Induced Gene Silencing (VIGS) in Flower Senescence Studies
Virus-induced gene silencing has been suggested as a powerful and rapid technique for analysis of gene function in plant growth and development (Baulcombe, 1999). Infecting Nicotiana benthamiana with Tobacco Rattle Virus (TRV) containing a fragment of the gene encoding phytoene desaturase, an essential enzyme in carotene synthesis, results in a photo-bleached phenotype in photosynthetic tissues...
